Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
Computer, Circuit playground, computer, iPad
What is your plan to create in this project?
I plan to make multiple circuit playground projects with different lights are patterns.
What unique qualities will your project have?
They will each have different color lights and patterns.
I made my list of ten and planning questions.
I made three different codes today including: a magic wand, a blinking light with wawawa sound, and a light censor,
I made 4 more codes today. They all had different sounds and color patterns.
I made 2 more codes today with different sounds.
Today I made my final video talking about my codes and how much i enjoyed making them. I also started my reflection.
Using an iPad, Circuit Playground, computer, and iMovie, I created 10 codes with different patterns and sounds because I wanted to explore what I could do with coding. I also wanted to see if it would be something I could possibly do in my future. I really enjoyed making these codes and I think it would be fun to work with them everyday.
During this process, I learned how to make codes and download them to my circuit playground. At first it took me a while to figure out how to download them to the circuit playground. But after I learned how it was very easy and fun to do. I would definitely do this project again if I could.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Global Collaborator because the work I did is being shared to the world from my website. I think it's really cool that I am able to share my work with the world.
A challenge I overcame on this project was downloading the codes to my circuit playground. I was able to do it by asking my classmates questions and looking at videos for help. I also just explored the website to see if I could find out how to do it.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the difficulty of my codes. The reason why I would change it is because a lot of them were very similar and had the same sounds. I feel like I could have made more complex codes but instead I made a lot of smaller codes.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Program CTE program at Hastings High School. This is because I made multiple codes on my computer that all had unique properties.
My project connects to careers in web developing because they design and build websites. This is similar to my project because we both designed codes through the computer. Overall I really enjoyed working with codes and I would definitely do it again.
