What is your plan to create in this project?

I plan to make different controllers using fruit and play-doh

What unique qualities will your project have?

I will be able to make a drum set out of fruit or make a piano.

Day 1

I made my list of 10 and planning questions. I also explored makey makey.

Day 2

I made a controller and played soccer with it.

Day 3

I remade the soccer controller and played agian.

Reflection:

Using a Makey Makey, iPad, Play-Doh and alligator clips, I created a controller to play online soccer because I thought it would be interesting to look at an idea the computer gave me and change it into my own. I browsed the Makey Makey website and then found something I thought would be interesting to make. Then I changed it into my own design.
During this process, I learned how to make a controller using play-doh. It was very interesting to see how the Makey Makey works. I enjoyed playing online soccer with the controller as well.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I made and designed my project to the way I wanted it to look. Instead of making it complicated with two Makey Makey's connected to each other and play-doh arrows I made it with one Makey Makey and circle play-doh.
A challenge I overcame on this project was getting the controller to work. I was able to do it by pushing the alligator clips farther into the Play-doh. Sometimes while I was playing the game I would have to stop and put more play-doh top so it would work.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change difficulty of the project. The reason why I would change it is because if I got more time on this project I could have made something more complex. Instead I took the time I was given and designed all that I could.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. I designed my own controller with is what Engineering and design is all about.
My project connects to a career in Architectural design because I designed a controller in the same way that an architect would design a house. Although my project was not as complex as building a house it still connects the two. I really enjoyed building my controller.
