The wheels will be able to move on the car.
We wrote our list of 10 ideas and planning questions.
We started to build our racecars.
We continued to build our projects.
I started to make the wheels of the car today. It was difficult to make them move.
I remade the wheels toady and made them more sturdy. I hope that they will be able to move the car.
I finished making all of my wheels and connected them to the car. They still don't move very well but at least they are wheels.
We finished building them and took a video of them racing.
I made my video today on iMovie I also started my reflection.
Using cardboard, hot glue, popsicle sticks, and duck tape, I created a cardboard racecar that I raced with my friend because I thought it would be cool to see who could build one better and who's would work better. I ended up winning the race between my friend, but it was really close. I had a lot of fun making it though.
During this process, I learned how to make cardboard wheels move and work. This took me a while to figure out but eventually I found a way to make them. It took me almost three days to make the wheels.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative Designer because I came up with the idea and made it with my own details. It took me a while to get the final design that I wanted.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making the wheels. I was able to do it by remaking them over and over until I found a way to make them work. I also asked my classmates for help and watched tutorials.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the quality of the car. The reason why I would change it is because it didn't look the best and I could have made the wheels better. Next time I would really take my time and make it as neat as possible.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Construction Trades CTE program at Hastings High School. It ties to this because I designed and made my own car with cardboard.
My project connects to careers in architecture because I designed my own model and was able to build it with the materials I had. I think it would be cool to work in architecture and get to design buildings and other things all day. Overall I had a lot of fun making this project and I would definitely do it again.
