I am working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
Computer, Tinker Cad, iPad, 3D printer
What is your plan to create in this project?
I plan to create a mini bench for my baby chicks to sit on.
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will be able to hold 1 maybe 2 baby chicks at a time.
I made my list of ten and filled out my planning questions.
I added the back piece, railing and indents to my bench
I added hearts to the back of the bench and words on the back.
I added stars and hearts to the back of the bench. I also changed the color.

Make sure you have your video of a project
Using a computer and Tinker cad, I created a 3D printed mini bench because I thought it would be fun and interesting to make and show on my website. Now when people go on my website they get to see something they probably have never seen before. Overall my project was very fun to create and explore with.
During this process, I learned how to put different shapes together to make a bigger object. When I was doing this I made a few mistakes so when I was going back and looking at it I had to adjust the shapes to make the object look better. I had so much fun exploring what different shapes could make.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I created and thought of my own creation. I also made different prototypes while exploring with the shapes.
A challenge I overcame on this project was attaching all of the shapes and words. I was able to do it by moving the object to the right angle so I could see if the shapes/words were attached. I has to do this a few times when adjusting my shapes size and features.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the difficulty of my project. The reason why I would change it is because I believe that I could create something a lot more complex. Instead of creating a simple bench I could have create something like a miniature plane or figure.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. The engineering design process begins by defining a problem and completing background research on the problem.
My project connects to careers in architectural engineering because I thought and created my own design just like an architect would do. Just like an architect I created a plan and then explored before making my final project. I had a lot of fun exploring and testing how different shapes looked on my object.
