Reflection
Using a Tello drone, iPod, controller, drone obstacles, and VR headset, I created a drone obstacle course video because I thought it would be fun to do so.
During this process, I learned how to use a Tello drone and fly it through obstacles.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I set a goal to learn how to fly a drone and reach it.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the drone kept flying down or up on its own. I was able to do it by replacing the batteries and accounting for that unwanted movement while flying.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the obstacle course we used. The reason why I would change it is because I feel we should have tried a more difficult course.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the computer programming CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in military drone piloting because I operated a drone and made it go through and around obstacles.
