Reflection

• Using an iPad, iMovie, copyright-free photos, and a microphone, I created a video about myself. I wanted to share some things about myself to the world. I also wanted to let people know what kind of person I am before seeing my creations.

• During this process, I learned how to do an iMovie voiceover. I also learned how to find copyright-free images on Google.  Also, I learned how to add sound effects onto a video using iMovie.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to creative communicator, because I am sharing ideas using technology. It also ties to this because I used tools to creatively express myself. A final reason it ties to this standard is because I used parts of past works of old works to create a new original work. 

• A challenge I overcame on this project was finding quality copyright-free images. I was able to do it by scrolling through many different images. I was able to do it by changing my search to a more broad term to get more results. A final way I was able to overcome my challenge was by just changing what topics I wanted to cover which allowed me to find better images for different topics.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the voiceover. The reason why I would change it is because I could have used some better words that described my topics better. Another reason I would change it is I had lost my voice on that day so it didn't sound great.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing.  My project connects to the digital multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School. It could also be connected to the marketing program.

• My project connects to careers in Youtube because I used photos to create an original product. It could also connect to careers in video editing because I used iMovie to edit a video made of pictures. A final reason my project connects to careers in video editing is that I use digital tools to create a video composed of copyright-free images and sound effects.
