We take great pride in our sporting offer at Hartley and our various teams do really well in local competitions too. However, we try to ensure that there is an equal balance between the competitive side of sports and getting to experience a range of different events as well.
We are delighted to introduce the Hartley Sports News, which has been created by our amazing PE Team. This is a review of all the sporting opportunities that have taken place this academic year. It’s an inspirational way to celebrate our sports teams and highlight the incredible opportunities available at HPA.

Every year, we take part in the following sports competitions and events:
Early Season 7-a-side boys' football tournament (Gravesham schools).
Early Season 7-a-side girls' football tournament (Gravesham schools).
Football matches happen throughout the year against other schools for girls and boys.
LAT swimming Gala
LAT Cricket Competition - a team of boys and girls is entered into this annual competition and also get the chance to meet ex-England international cricketers.
LAT Primary Sports Day - a team of boys and girls go to Dartford Harriers Athletics Track to compete in this mixed event day.
HPA Sport's Day - Our four houses compete in a mix of competitive running races and non-competitive events.
Sports Coaching - at HPA we employ a team of rugby coaches who run rugby sessions for a range of children both in and after school.
In the past, other competitions and activities that we have taken part in and that we hope happen again soon have been athletics, dodgeball, basketball, cross-country, hockey, surfing, golf and many more.
SWIMMING SUCCESS FOR AANYA!
We are delighted and extremely proud to announce that Aanya in Year 6 has won a silver medal in the South-East Regional Swimming Championships for her 200m Individual Medley. She is now ranked 5th in the country- what a phenomenal achievement!
Next weekend, she has a few more races to swim- we wish her lots of luck! Be sure to look out for Aanya in the future- she has the Olympics in her sights!
