We are incredibly fortunate at Hartley with our outdoor environment and utilise it for learning as much as we can. One example of this is through Forest School. We pay for a trained ranger, Donna, to come in and run Forest School sessions for our children. Recently, the PTA and our School Fund have also helped pay for extra sessions for all of our children to enjoy.

YEAR 3 FOREST SCHOOL SESSIONS WITH RANGER DONNA
Y3 thoroughly enjoyed taking their inquiry outside during our forest sessions this term. The children created characters from twigs linked to their narrative writing about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and the destruction of Pompeii. They also made dens, did some leaf printing and enjoyed some delicious hot chocolate.
YEAR 4 FOREST SCHOOL SESSIONS WITH RANGER DONNA
YEAR 5 FOREST SCHOOL SESSIONS WITH RANGER DONNA
Year 5 went to Lullingstone Country Park and we worked on our team building skills. We got an insight into our term ahead's learning. We looked at how to build a successful system.
Donna also treated us to some pizza wraps that we got to make and eat them!
