The Truck Quote or Dealer Commission, commonly referred to as a "TQ/DC" is an object in Salesforce established in order to track 2 main items:
1) Truck Quotes - when we give a quote for a fire truck, this information is stored within this record.
2) Dealer Commissions - when we receive a lead from any outside source, a record is established of It in a TQDC record so that if business is conducted from this record, (when it is marked closed - won and revenue is collected), we can review to determine if a commission is owed.
That being said, the Truck Quote and Dealer Commission (TQ/DC) object in Salesforce is a critical object driving and managing the industry relationships Brindlee maintains. Why? Because this is where we track what finder's fees, or external commissions we are paying to incentivize people in the industry to tell us about used fire truck sales, purchasing opportunities, or refurbishment projects that exist. This can be seen as a marketing channel, where we are paying for exposure to deals, or compensating people in the industry who are "playing in traffic" to notify us when a used fire truck deal may exist.
To create a TQDC record (this Is our internal acronym for records in this object):
Open the opportunity related to the deal
Hover over the Truck Quote and Dealer Commission related objectÂ
Click "New" to create the record.
Enter the FD or Company the person who sent the deal is related to In the FD or Company field.
Enter the person's name In the Person field
Choose whether this is a purchase quote or commission record or both In the field xxxxx
If known, enter the commission amount, type (purchase or sale), and the story on the commission. Many times this is not known upon original entry of the TQ/DC, but can be filled in later.
