subsidiary & affiliate companies

The BMFA Family of companies consists of several brands. 

These brands fall Into 2 categories:

• Wholly-owned Subsidiaries

  • The wholly-owned subsidiaries are companies who have been acquired by Brindlee and are operating in the public domain as a subsidiary of Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus. We advertise the relationship with these companies, and work in conjunction with them publicly to engage business, (via dealers and manufacturers, co-op purchasing agreements, trade shows, etc.)

• Affiliate Companies

  • Affiliate companies are companies where Brindlee may have some Investment or relationship, Brindlee may or may not conduct business directly with the companies In the market, and it is not public knowledge nor to be shared the nature of the relationship with the affiliate. Brindlee may offer some back-office support In varying degrees to the affiliates to assist in them conducting business, but they operate as separate companies in the marketplace.

There are a number of companies within the Brindlee ecosystem. Generally speaking, these affiliates fall into three broad categories when it comes to Salesforce integration and data management.

1. No Salesforce Integration
These companies have little to no data or business processes within our Salesforce org.

2. Salesforce Data Management Only (Affiliate Companies)
These companies have data stored within our Salesforce org including Product information and some financial records. Instructions for managing this data can be found under the Affiliate company page of this Wiki. There is a unique purchasing opportunity record type for each of these companies that must be used when creating Product records.

3. Full Salesforce Integration (Subsidiary Companies)
These companies fully operate (or will at some point) within our Salesforce org. This means there is an alignment of business processes as all users share the same objects and record types (including purchasing).
