Connecting Item Analysis to Improving Teaching & Learning

Introduction

This module begins to interweave the separate learning from the previous modules to address the question: what do we do with the analysis of data? This module expands upon some additional assessment resources as focus on two main questions:

  • How do we use item analysis to improve instruction (teacher level)?

  • How do we use item analysis to improve student learning (student level)?

Objectives

    1. Participants will utilize results of item analysis interpretation to revise instructional learning experiences for identified standards/areas of focus.

    2. Participants will utilize results of item analysis interpretation to:

      • Identify the need for enrichment/intervention for groups of students

      • Identify learning strengths, gaps and weaknesses for individual students
