1. The computer will boot to the Ubuntu Kiosk by default for both single and dual boot options.
2. To access an alternate operating system on dual boot setups ONLY, use the up/down arrow keys to highlight the desired OS on the boot options screen and hit Enter.
3. Switching between operating systems can only be done during the boot start, so the computer must be restarted each time to access the boot options screen.
4. For Kiosk security purposes:
All non-essential keys and key combinations have been restricted.
Internet access has been limited to exam sites only.
Access to system files, external drives, and accessories such as printers have been removed.
5. The Kiosk desktop will automatically boot to a screen that will look like this. Both public safety and Cosmetology Kansas candidates should click the NTN Online Testing for online testing.
6. To take a Licensing exam, select the Cosmetology Kansas button.
7. This will direct the browser to the Licensing exam login page.
Select the Candidate radio button
Enter the NTN email address
Enter the NTN password
Select Log in
The test will begin
Select the Proctor radio button
Enter the application ID
Enter the candidate's First Name
Enter the candidate's Last Name
Enter the Proctor User name
Enter the Proctor Password

Most exam navigation occurs in the content area during the interactive process of testing. There are three additional navigation options in the exam pages header that the candidate can select while testing:
The back button allows the candidate to navigate to a previous screen. On some tests this action is not allowed and will log the candidate out of the exam.
The refresh button will reload the current page that the candidate is on. This is most commonly used when a page does not load properly or video content does not play.
The logout button will log the candidate out of the test. A candidate can log back into the test if they have not submitted the exam and they have time left on the exam's timer. Logging back in will take them to the same place in the test where they logged out.
