Once a candidate is approved for an ADA accommodation, National Testing Network will reach out to the testing site to discuss the accommodation, ensure it can be performed appropriately and find a date that mutually works for candidate and test site. Once a testing date is decided upon, National Testing Network will assist the candidate to schedule for that session.
The most common public safety exam accommodations are:
extra time added to the exam
breaks during the exam
testing in an environment with no other candidates present.
National Testing Network will notify candidates with the decision regarding their request for ADA accommodation. This process may take several weeks. Candidates should not be scheduling tests until their ADA accommodation request is approved.
Candidates wanting to apply for accommodations for their exam(s) must:
Download the Request for Accommodations Form (Parts A, B, and C) here.
Print the form.
Fill out the form. Parts A and B are required. Part C is optional.
Mail or fax the form to the address/fax number listed on the form.
If candidates have questions regarding this process, refer them to NTN Support.
