Capacity Testing

The purpose of Capacity Testing is to simulate a full (to capacity) test administration. We ask centers to perform a capacity test that involves running all of the examination computers at the same time to determine whether they have enough bandwidth to stream the video exams without interruption. Contact NTN Support if you need to run a Capacity Test and need assistance.

The goals are:

a. Run tests on all computers at once

b. Video questions play with no lagging or blank screens

c. Video question audio is heard clearly

You’ve had a successful Capacity Test once all computers are running a test at the same time and all meet the goals.

There is no need to run the tests all the way through to completion. Do NOT answer the test questions during the Capacity Test.

To conduct a capacity test:

1. Click on the NTN Exams icon

If you do not have this icon, follow the instructions to install the ExamHQ Google Chrome extension.

2. Click on NTN Online Testing

3. Click on Public Safety Testing

4. Enter login information in the following order:

Logon Type: Proctor

Candidate Log On: Candidate Application ID: 9123

Candidate first name: Charles

Candidate last name: Baylor

Use your assigned proctor login Username and password

Note: The same proctor login can be used on multiple computers at the same time. The same Candidate Application ID can be used on multiple computers at the same time.

5. Repeat on all computers on which you intend to test candidates.

Once all computers are all running the test, begin checking for:

• Lag (slow page load times, stuttering or clipping video)

• Black screens or no video

• Clear audio volume and quality through headsets on all computers running the test.

Do NOT answer the test questions during the Capacity Test
