The lab environment must be considered before every administration. Only proctors and candidates who have gone through the check-in process are allowed in the testing lab.
Candidates’ chairs are spaced at least 18 to 24 inches apart.
No extraneous noise in the testing lab.
The temperature of the lab is between 65°F and 80°F.
Lighting in the room is bright enough so all candidates can comfortably see the exam.
A clock is visible to all candidates.
Paper administration must have enough #2 pencils to give two (2) to each candidate.
Ensure that candidates have a relaxed, non-stressful testing experience.
Ensure that no candidate cheats on a test.
Protect the security of the test content, confirming that all test materials are collected and that no test data is saved to a personal device or copied across the internet.
If someone asks about their score please direct them to NTN Support. As applicable, scores will automatically be sent to selected Public Safety or Licensing departments but are not always available in the candidate's account.
Tours or visits to the test center are not allowed for people who are not taking an exam.
No talking, laughing, or noise while testing is in session.
The goal is to deliver a consistent and equal testing experience.
Depending on the type of examination, the number of proctors per candidate can vary. The on-site Coordinator will arrange for the appropriate number of proctors for each testing session depending upon candidate volume. NTN’s guideline is one (1) proctor for every thirty (30) candidates.
