The Chairs/Deans must follow the following timelines, which is located in section 5.5.10 of the Faculty Handbook.
at time of hire
The chair/dean will identify a tenured faculty member, chosen during the candidate’s first year, who is willing to advise/mentor the candidate on the creation of the dossier.
by May 31st of the 4th semester
The Chair/Dean will create the Third Year Peer Review Committee in collaboration with the faculty member under review. At least three committee members will be appointed comprising: tenured faculty members, two of whom (if possible) must be in the faculty member under review’s division or school; the faculty member’s tenured faculty mentor (appointed by their Chair), who has acted as the dossier advisor; and one tenured faculty member from another division or school or the library.
between November 1st-December 23rd of the 5th semester
The VPAA's office will share the eDossier, along with the Third Year Review Committee's documented review with recommendations, with the Chair or Dean. The Chair or Dean will evaluate the eDossier and the documented review with recommendations.
by December 1 or December 23rd of the 5th semester
The chair will forward their report, which will include their recommendations and those of the Third-Year Review Committee, to the Vice President of Academic Affairs by December 1. The Dean will forward their report by December 23.
by March 15th of the 6th semester
The VPAA will inform the Chair/Dean whether or not the tenure-track faculty member’s contract is being renewed.
by March 15th of the 6th semester
If the VPAA decides to renew the tenure-track faculty member’s contract, the VPAA will meet with the Chair or Dean, the Tenure-Track Faculty Mentor, and tenure-track faculty member at the conclusion of the review process to discuss the results of the review and make recommendations for successful continuation in the tenure-track program.
