The Third Year Review Committee must follow the following timeline, which is located in the Faculty Handbook, at the end of section 5.5.10.
by May 31st of the 4th semester
If you’re a member of the Third Year Review Committee for a faculty member who is under review, that means that that faculty member’s Chair or Dean has already appointed a Tenure-Track Faculty Mentor, and the VPAA’s Office has already created a Google Folder for the candidate to build their eDossier. Your committee makeup should be as follows: tenured faculty members, two of whom (if possible) must be in the faculty member under review’s division or school; the faculty member’s tenured faculty mentor (appointed by their Chair), who has acted as the dossier advisor; and one tenured faculty member from another division or school or the library.
by May 31st of the 4th semester
The first responsibility of the The Third Year Review Committee is to choose a Chair. The Chair then notifies the Chair of the Tenure & Promotion Committee of the committee’s members. This must be done by the end of the faculty member under review’s second year (by May 31st of their 4th semester).
by September 30th of the 5th semester
The Third Year Review Committee Chair should make sure that the tenure-track faculty member under review submits their eDossier to the VPAA’s Office by September 30th of their 5th semester.
by October 1st of the 5th semester
The VPAA’s Office should have shared the candidate's eDossier with the Chair of the Third Year Review Committee and with Committee members. Once this happens, the Chair of the Third Year Peer Review Committee should contact the Chair of Tenure & Promotion, who will send to the Third Year Review Committee Chair the Tenure-Track Evaluation Form and all other necessary documentation, for the purpose of making sure the candidate’s dossier is complete. The Third Year Peer Review Committee Chair is responsible for validating the candidate’s dossier against the tenure criteria.
The Third Year Review Committee will evaluate the eDossier, and the Committee Chair will write a documented review, with recommendations, based on the committee’s findings, which should be delivered electronically to the VPAA’s Office.
by November 1st of the 5th semester
by November 1st of the 5th semester
The Third Year Review Committee will meet with the tenure-track faculty member under review to discuss the documented review with recommendations.
