Google Drive no longer allows users to make a second copy of a folder or document, only a link to the original. For the purposes of Third Year Review, faculty will need to download the folder structure template and then upload it to their campus account with a new name.
Please use the following basic directions(Windows only) to make a copy of the Official VPAA's Google Drive ePortfolio folder.
Open the Official Google Drive ePortfolio folder, using one of the following two methods:
Use link sent in email from the VPAA's Office
Open Google Drive
Click on Shared with me, which is located on the left-side navigation
The following includes two ways to download the example Google folder entitled "001 Third Year Review Google Folder Template"
Download after opening the folder
I. Locate the ePortfolio folder
Left-click on the name of the folder
When folder opens, click the down arrow next to the folder title (at the top of the screen)
At the drop-down menu, click download
4. The entire folder will automatically download to your "Downloads" folder as a zip file
5. When folder has finished downloading, click the down arrow next to the folder name (lower left-hand corner)
6. Click on Show in folder
7. Double-click on the title of the folder and follow the instructions below to "extract" the files.
8. Once the files have been extracted, follow these directions to upload the entire folder into a faculty's individual campus Google Drive account.
Note: Make sure to change the title of the folder when uploading the template to Google Drive.
Download after right-clicking on the folder name
II. Locate the ePortfolio folder
Right-click on the name of the folder
At the menu, click download
The entire folder will automatically download to your "Downloads" folder as a zip file
From this point, follow the directions listed above starting with #5
Locate the downloaded folder, which should be in the downloads folder
Double-click the folder name
At the "Extract" window, click the folder name to highlight it
Click the Extract button (looks like a negative sign)
At the "Copy" window, click the down arrow next to the folder location.
Choose the folder where the extracted folder will be saved
Click OK
Close the "Extract" window once the folder has finished the extraction process
If faculty members wish to utilize Google Drive to build their portfolio, follow these directions to upload the entire folder into a faculty's individual campus Google Drive account.
