令和８年度については、下記の２制度による学生募集を行います。
1）令和６年度に採択された現行制度による募集
2）本学がJST（科学技術振興機構）へ申請予定の新制度による募集

上記２制度では、学生募集時期や募集区分によって支援内容が異なりますので、必ず以下の内容および今後公表される該当する制度の学生募集要項をご確認ください。

なお、JSTからの新制度採択結果（本年9月以降予定）により、今後の支援内容が変更となる可能性もあります。

また、現在Start Your Applicationページに掲載されている内容は、すでに終了した募集のものですのでご注意ください。

1. 募集区分について（区分1～3）

2. 令和８年度学生募集内容

（1）令和8年10月採用（2次募集）（新入生・在学生）

募集期間：5月11日（月）～5月22日（金）

・募集対象：区分１、区分２※　のみ

※区分２のうち、支援開始時点（令和８年10月時点）で国費外国人留学生制度による支援を受けておらず、かつ本国からの奨学金等の支援を受けていない留学生のみが応募できます。

・支援制度：以下のとおり。

　区分１：現行制度による支援。

区分2：令和9年3月までは現行制度、同年4月以降は新制度による支援。

なお、新制度では研究奨励費（生活費相当額）は不支給、研究費のみの支給となります。また、JSTによる新制度の採択状況により、令和9年度以降の支援が変更・停止となる可能性があります。

　The EXEX Doctoral Fellowship Program to be offered in FY2026 consists of two parallel schemes:

1. The current fellowship scheme (started in FY 2024), and
2. A new scheme that Hokkaido University (HU) plans to apply to JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency), scheduled to begin in FY2027.

Since these two schemes overlap, the support provided will differ depending on the recruitment period and category.
Please carefully review the information below as well as the Application Guidelines to be released in the future.
Please note that the content of the new scheme may change depending on the screening results by the JST, which are expected in September 2026 or later.

Information posted on the “Start Your Application” page refers to past recruitment and is no longer applicable.

(1) October 2026 Enrollment (Second Call)

Application Period: May 11 – May 22

- Targeted Category: 1 and 2 only *
* Category 2 applicants must not be receiving support under the Japanese Government (MEXT) scholarship or a scholarship from their home country at the start of fellowship support (October 2026).
- Support Scheme:
- Category 1: Supported under the current scheme
- Category 2: Supported under the current scheme until March 2027, after which support transitions to the new scheme from April 2027.

  Under the new scheme, research fellowships (amount equivalent to living expenses) will no longer be provided; only research expenses will be provided.
  If HU’s proposal for the new scheme is not selected for funding, support from April 2027 may subject to change.
