北海道大学EXEX博士人材フェローシップでは、研究奨励費及び基本研究費のほかに、挑戦的・融合的研究のために必要な研究費を追加研究費（「挑戦的・融合研究の場」実施支援事業）として、申請内容等を審査の上、適宜支給します。4つのカテゴリーに分けて支援します。各カテゴリーの支援内容の詳細は、募集要項でご確認ください。申請を希望する場合は、下部にある申請フォームからお申し込みください。
In addition to the Research Fellowship and Basic Research Fellowship, the Hokkaido University EXEX Doctoral Fellowship offers additional research funding through the Program for Supporting "Challenging and Interdisciplinary Research Opportunities." Funding is available under four categories to support innovative, challenging, and interdisciplinary research activities. Please refer to the application guidelines for details of each category. If you wish to apply, please submit your application using the application form below.

フェローシップ生による主体的な異分野融合・挑戦的研究の遂行に必要となる技術や知識を習得するために、自身が成果発表を行う異分野の学会・学術集会等に出席することを支援します。学会に準ずる場での成果発表に関しては、申請に必要な補足資料が準備できる場合、申請可能です（開催期間、開催場所、成果発表があることがわかる補足資料）。
This category supports fellowship students in attending academic conferences, symposia, and other scholarly meetings in fields different from their own, where they present their research findings, in order to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for the independent pursuit of interdisciplinary and challenging research. Applications may be submitted for presentations of research findings at events equivalent to academic conferences, provided that the necessary supporting documents can be prepared (documents indicating the event dates, venue, and confirmation that a presentation will take place).

フェローシップ生がその研究成果について主体的に作成した論文（アブストラクトのみの場合も含む）を、英文雑誌等で発表するために必要な経費を支援します。和文雑誌における発表については、本支援の対象としません。
This category supports the expenses necessary for publishing research results, specifically papers (including abstracts only) independently prepared by the fellowship students, in English-language journals or similar outlets. However, submissions to Japanese-language publications are not eligible.

フェローシップ生が代表となり展開する研究領域や研究テーマ等に制限を設けない自由で野心的な研究活動に対し、その推進を目的として研究費を支援します。自らの専門分野と異なる研究分野を組み合わせた挑戦的な取組を期待します。
This category provides research funding to promote free and ambitious research activities led by fellowship students, without restrictions on research fields or topics. Applicants are encouraged to pursue challenging research initiatives that integrate their own area of expertise with different academic disciplines.
D. 学生共同研究支援 / Support for Students’ Collaborative Research
D. 学生共同研究支援 / Support for Students’ Collaborative Research
複数のフェローシップ生による、異分野融合の共同研究提案に対し、そのグループ研究の推進を支援します。多様な研究者やステークホルダーと協働する力を養うため、自発的にフェローシップ生同士が交流し、異分野融合の共同研究計画を立案することを奨励します。（目安として、３名のうち１名、５名のうち２名程度は異なる学院に所属している学生であること。グループの学生の中でどの程度異分野が融合しているかも審査対象とします。）研究の実施に必要な経費を支援します。参画するフェローシップ生の経費を合算して、国際シンポジウム等を開催することや共有設備を購入することも可能とします。
This category supports interdisciplinary collaborative research projects proposed and conducted by multiple fellowship students. Students are encouraged to actively engage with one another and develop ambitious research plans that integrate diverse academic disciplines. The level of interdisciplinary collaboration among project members will be considered during the review process. Funding may be used for research-related expenses, including the organization of international symposia and the purchase of shared research equipment.

The shared equipment purchased with the fellowship research budget is available not only to the designated equipment manager and deputy manager, but also to other fellowship students. If you wish to use any of the equipment listed, please contact the relevant person at the email address provided in the list.
