Language features can be hard to master, but with me, I'm sure you'll catch it quickly!
The language features that we're going to be working on today are:
Personification
Metaphors
Similes
Personification is the act in which you give something that is not human a human quality. For example: The lightning danced across the sky. In this section, you are giving the topic (lightning) a human quality (dancing)
A metaphor is a figure of speech in which a word in a sentence or phrase is swapped to another to express what it means better. For example, someone might say "You're a peach" instead of saying "You're so sweet" A peach is sweet, therefore making the sentences stronger by being switched.
A simile is a figure of speech in which something is compared with something. For example, someone might say "You're as brave as a lion" instead of "you're so brave". You usually compare them using words such as "Like" and "as"
