Learner profile at Ressu

The aim of all IB programmes is to encourage student growth towards international mindedness. At Ressu Comprehensive School we encourage students to become active and responsible members of local, national and global communities through supporting student development in line with the learner profile attributes. We strive to be: 

• inquirers:

  • • I am naturally curious and enjoy learning. I am inquisitive about the world. I can conduct research by myself. 

• principled:

  • • Minulla on periaatteita. Olen reilu, rehellinen ja otan toiset huomioon. Noudatan sääntöjä. 

• caring:

  • • I care about the others and the environment. I want the people around me to be happy. I can recognise their needs and their wishes. 

• balanced:

  • • I am in balance with myself and I feel good. I am healthy and I have a healthy diet. I get enough exercise and understand the importance of rest. 

• reflective:

  • • I can reflect on situations, myself and on my own learning. I know my strengths and areas where I need more practice. I try to think about these things and self improve. 

• communicators:

  • • I can communicate. I can tell about my ideas and express myself in pictures and in writing. I know more than one language. 

• thinkers:

  • • I think about things. I can solve problems and make good decisions independently.  

• open-minded:

  • • I know that people are different and do different things. I understand that not all people think alike, but I try to understand their perspectives. 

• knowledgeable:

  • • I am eager to find out about the world around me. I remember what I have learnt. I can use the knowledge I have gained in new situations. 

• risk-takers:

  • • I am a risk-taker, I have the courage to try new, challenging things. I  solve problems in a variety of ways and I let others know what I think is right.
