Please find below a summary of the requirements of your overall CAS portfolio. Make sure you check the list systematically against your portfolio on ManageBac.
Portfolio requirements:
To complete the CAS Programme, you must be involved in a number of experiences, and at least one CAS project, over a period of 18 months, with regular activity
These experiences should incorporate the three CAS strands and be reasonably balanced between Creativity, Activity, and Service
In your 18 months on the CAS Programme you must show each Learning Outcome at least once, although you may well demonstrate one or more of them many times!
You should use the stage framework (the CAS stages are Investigation, Preparation, Action, Reflection and Demonstration) to plan for the majority of your experiences. The amount of time and effort you spend on each stage will vary depending on the experience
The reflection process should be thoughtfully constructed, and should challenge and guide you in developing critical thinking about your experiences
You should record evidence of your involvement and development throughout your experiences and your project
You should complete your CAS interviews 1, 2 and 3
Descriptions
Present your intention towards a CAS experience and your personal goal (why you have chosen to undertake that particular activity and what you hope to accomplish)
Need to link to correct learning outcomes (max 3-4 per experience)
Reflections
At least one paragraph reflection at length for each LO selected to demonstrate you met that particular LO.
Written reflections have to be documented for all experiences. Check the section on Reflection & Evidence and namely the guide on meaningful reflections writing.
Evidence
Evidence is needed for every experience and can take the form of videos, audios, photos, links to blogs/websites, links to charities you fund raised towards, certificate of completion, sign up confirmation emails screenshots, screenshots email exchanges during key planning phase, planning docs, pdfs of posters you produced, screenshots social media for the campaigns you led, etc.
Supervisor reviews
All listed experiences have to be signed off/reviewed. For sports activities or language/art courses a scanned certificate of completion is accepted. Pls upload both under Reflection & evidence tab and under CAS documents section at the bottom of your portfolio.
If your supervisor is at Ecolint, you will need to send them a Supervisor Review Request via Managebac. If your supervisor is not at Ecolint, they will need to fill in the form below.
CAS project
Minimum duration is one month and should be a collaboration with other student(s).
Descriptor of project should outline the 5 planning stages and your intention towards them. Refer to the CAS on ManageBac page of the website and sample document here.
Project descriptor should be used by all project leaders for consistency purposes and has to list the full names & roles of participants.
A final summarizing reflection is required outlining & detailing the 5 planning stages and your role in the project. Pls refer to the reflections & evidence page and the reflections for CAS project samples here.
Timeline
Long term (ongoing) experiences are preferable as more meaningful than one-offs (temporary ones). Their dates should be correctly documented on MB.
Portfolio timeline: duration of 18 months in total. Each of your experiences has a different duration some of which should last for 18 months.
Outcomes graph
Each of the 7 LOs should be met several times over throughout the 18 month duration of your CAS programme. At the end of your programme each of the bars should be GREEN not ORANGE. Orange is an indicator that you have selected that LO in the description but you have not tackled it in a separate reflection.
Interviews
3 interviews with your mentor, recorded on MB.
Your portfolio should be completed ahead of your 3rd interview and no later than March DP2.
