The PTA is looking for students interested in creating sustainability initiatives for this year’s Kermesse (eco-friendly stands, recycling ideas, awareness activities, etc.). This could be a great collaborative CAS Project while contributing to a more sustainable event.

🗣️ Tutorat pour l’oral de français

On cherche des élèves de Year 12 ou 13 pour accompagner des Year 9 et 10 en coaching individuel (1:1) pour l’oral de français. C’est une excellente opportunité de Service pour ton CAS : aider des plus jeunes à gagner en confiance, travailler la prise de parole et structurer leurs réponses, tout en développant ses propres compétences en communication et en pédagogie.

📚 Book Club – Call for student leaders!

Tu aimes lire (ou tu aimerais t’y remettre) et échanger autour des livres ? Nous cherchons deux élèves de Year 12 motivé·e·s pour co-animer un Book Club, ouvert aux élèves de Year 12. Le club sera mené par les élèves, avec mon accompagnement en tant que co-lead/superviseur, et le soutien de Léa (bibliothèque) pour les recommandations et découvertes littéraires.

Au programme : lectures partagées, discussions libres, choix de livres variés (romans, essais, poésie…), et pourquoi pas des événements autour du livre.

📚 Volontariat : lecture en français à l’école primaire

Les enseignants de Year 3 francophone (3FA et 3FB), Alexis et Cendrine, recherchent des élèves volontaires pour aider les plus jeunes à améliorer leur lecture en français. C’est une belle opportunité de Service CAS, basée sur l’accompagnement, la patience et la transmission. Les séances ont idéalement lieu le lundi entre 13h30 et 15h, mais les horaires sont flexibles selon vos disponibilités. Toute aide est précieuse et très appréciée !

🎭 Service Opportunity – Helpers for Beauty and the Beast

The Performing Arts team is looking for student volunteers to help during the public performances of Beauty and the Beast!

Friday 5 Dec (19:00) – arrive at 18:15

Saturday 6 Dec (14:00 & 18:30) – arrive at 13:15 / 17:45

Your role: welcoming guests, checking tickets, distributing programmes, ushering, and helping ensure the audience is seated. Once everyone is inside, you will get to watch the show!  A fun way to be part of the school’s biggest production of the year!

🕊️ YAS !

We are pleased to share that Ecolint has once again been invited to participate in the Young Activists Summit, organised by DEV.TV in collaboration with the United Nations, the RTS, and the Graduate Institute. The event will take place on Wednesday 20 November, 10:00–12:00 at the Palais des Nations.

The Summit brings together inspiring young changemakers from around the world. It is open to 80 Years 7–13 students, who will attend accompanied by Ecolint staff supervisors. Please have your student write an e-mail to yasmine.sadri@ecolint.ch to share why they'd like to participate in the event and what they hope to learn from it. Students may also register via their teachers/mentors/school or designated supervisors.

✨  SLN

All students interested in participating in SLN this year should join SLN  2025 on GoogleClassroom (class code byi4feo4).  The application process will launch tomorrow morning and applications are due on Monday 15 September.  There will be an optional, online information session on Tuesday 9 September. Students should see Ms. Waldman or Dr. Wernz with any questions.

🌿 EcoSchools

Have you been inspired this summer to work towards improvements of environmental issues on the LGB campus? We need new members for the EcoSchools Group!  This student-led initiative will allow you to work on student-developed projects on campus related to biodiversity, and sustainable transport or any other environmental issue you feel is important to you. It may include working with the primary or middle school. Anyone who has an interest is invited to participate.  Meetings take place every  Tuesday at break time in SA310 (top floor of the Salève building). 

Avez-vous été inspiré cet étè pour travailler à l'amélioration des questions environnementales sur le campus de LGB ? Nous avons besoin de nouveaux membres pour le groupe EcoSchools! Cette initiative menée par les étudiants vous permettra de travailler sur des projets développés par les étudiants sur le campus et liés à la biodiversité, au transport durable ou à toute autre question environnementale que vous jugez importante. Il peut s'agir de travailler avec l'école primaire ou l’école moyen. Toute personne intéressée est invitée à participer. Les réunions ont lieu tous les mardis (break time) au SA310 (dernier étage du bâtiment Salève).

🧑🏽‍🎓 Support Needed for Graduation Events 

The GradCo team is looking for Year 12 student volunteers to help with two upcoming graduation events:

– Wednesday 19th June (16:00–19:00): 3 students to help serve food and drinks and tidy up during the Teacher Appreciation Apéro at the Rose Garden.

– Thursday 20th June (14:00–16:00): 4 students to hand out graduation gifts and letters, keep track of distribution, and help store any undelivered items after the ceremony at the Greek Theatre.

The PTA is looking for volunteers to help run EcoPoints at the Kermesse on Saturday 17th May. This is a great way to contribute to the community and support sustainability at LGB! EcoPoints help manage the reusable cups and dishes used during the event, a key part of keeping the Kermesse eco-friendly!

🏫 Middle School Duty

We’re looking for students to help supervise the Middle School during their break at 09:45. This is a long-term project, running once or twice a week if you have a free period at that time. It is a fun and rewarding activity if you enjoy working with kids. Training will be provided.

🎓US IB Student Visit – April 8th

On Monday, April 8th, we’ll be welcoming a group of IB students visiting from the US. We’re looking for around 24 volunteers who would be willing to host a visitor during Period 4, allowing them to shadow you and experience a lesson here.

🌍📚 Volunteer Opportunity: Become an Online English Tutor with EFC!

Dear Y12 and Y13,

If you are a native or fluent English speaker interested in teaching, Education First Cambodia (EFC) would love to have you on board as an English tutor! 

EFC is an organization that works hard to provide higher education (alongside other opportunities) to underprivileged women from rural parts of Cambodia. Among these opportunities, students receive tutoring from volunteer English speakers to help them practice their grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, or general conversation. As such, EFC is always looking for more motivated tutors to join their cause in order to provide as many of their students as possible with English support in addition to their schooling. In my experience, tutoring for EFC is a truly unique opportunity to learn in addition to teaching. Alongside tutoring, you will be able to learn about your student’s interests and culture as you share yours with them, and will have the chance to form a meaningful bond with the exceptional students in the EFC family.

As a tutor, you do not have to be a native or mother tongue speaker, however you must be fluent in the English language. All sessions with your student will be online, but the time of day, call length, and platform you call on are up to you and your student. Typically, most tutors call their students for an hour once per week. Each EFC student has English lessons in school, however some may have slightly different levels compared to others, and it is up to you to structure your lessons accordingly. Note that you may communicate with your student however you like (email, etc…), however the EFC students typically prefer to use Telegram.

The organisers of the STEAM Summit, taking place on 29th January, are looking for 2-3 student volunteers to help at the main entrance desk. Responsibilities include distributing badges to participants from 8:30 to 9:30 AM.

Dear Students,

The Ecolint LGB Winter Market 2024 is just around the corner, and we would love to invite you to participate!

If you’re interested in hosting a stand to raise funds for school trips or other causes, please contact us at events.pta.lgb@community.ecolint.ch The market will take place on Saturday, November 30th, from 10:00 to 16:00 in the school Cafeteria and Sport Center. 

As you know, Ecolint has been making strides toward becoming a single-use plastic-free campus. To support this initiative, we’re encouraging participants at this year’s Winter Market to avoid mass-produced products, especially those made from plastic, and instead explore more thoughtful, sustainable alternatives with an emphasis on natural and eco-friendly materials.

As in previous years, this trip to Senegal has a solidarity, educational and cultural purpose, as we develop fruitful exchanges with local populations, cultural and historical institutions and other local schools.

All the activities we carry out there are part of the reinforcement of the ideals of our school, hence our foundation, which aims at the integration and participation of our students in a system of international solidarity.

The project includes:

- A computer allocation program for primary, middle and secondary schools.

- A program to build teaching spaces, refresh classrooms and reforest schools.

- An educational, artistic and cultural exchange program

Comme les années précédentes, ce voyage au Sénégal a un but solidaire, pédagogique et culturel car nous y développons des échanges fructueux avec les populations locales, les institutions culturelles et historiques ainsi qu'avec d'autres établissements scolaires locaux.
L’ensemble des activités que nous y menons s'inscrit dans le renforcement des idéaux de notre école d'où notre fondation qui vise l'intégration et la participation de nos élèves dans un système de solidarité internationale.

Le projet comporte :
- Un programme d’informatisation d’écoles primaires, moyennes et secondaires.
- Un programme de construction d’espaces pédagogiques, de rafraîchissement de salles de classe et de reboisement dans les écoles.
- Un programme d'échange scolaire, artistique et culture

The application process for participation in Students' League of Nations will commence on Friday 13 September with applications due on Monday 30 September at 900. All interested students MUST join the dedicated GoogleClassroom (class code ykvnogb) and follow the posted application instructions.  SLN is open to all students in Years 11-13 and students should contact Ms. Waldman (elizabeth.waldman@ecolint.ch) or Dr. Wernz (maura.wernz@ecolint.ch) with any questions.

Le processus d'inscription à la Ligue des Nations des étudiants débutera le vendredi 13 septembre et la date limite d'inscription est fixée au lundi 30 septembre à 9h00.
