Important Information

Areas of focus

Parents, as we move in to the final stretch of the school year, there are two areas of focus we have identified to continue to ensure a safe, instruction-focused, and equitable learning environment. Please help us by reviewing and reinforcing these expectations with your students.

  1. Starting Monday, there will be a school-wide emphasis on eliminating all opportunities for students to leave class during instructional time. Too many students are disregarding the class change and lunch opportunities provided and are trying to get out of class for the bathroom, water breaks, and to visit the snack machines during instruction. Campus-wide, teachers will emphasize and reinforce the expectation that all students remain in the classroom for the duration of class. Bathroom breaks and water breaks are between classes and during lunch. Hall passes will only be issued in extreme emergencies. Our focus during class is and must continue to be instruction.

  2. We have seen a significant uptick in disciplinary referrals for academic dishonesty. Cheating is our single most reported disciplinary issue. Students caught engaging in academic dishonesty will continue to be given a permanent zero on the assignment, will face detention/suspension, and will risk having their magnet status revoked. There is no place for academic dishonesty (copying work, using another student's login, plagiarism, etc.) at Liberty Magnet High School.

accreditation surveys

As a part of our accreditation process, each year schools in EBR request completion of feedback surveys from all stakeholders. Please find the links below to the parent survey. We earnestly request that you complete the survey. There is a minimum threshold of participation required as a part of the accreditation process. The school administration also uses the summary findings of the survey to guide focus areas for the upcoming year. The deadline for completing surveys is March 31.

*Student survey links have been placed in the grade-level Google Classrooms. Please encourage your students to complete the short online survey.

2021-2022 Student Scheduling

Students will wrap-up requesting courses for the 2021-2022 school year Thursday through English classes. A copy of the schedule is posted here. Please make sure your student is present and on time for the scheduling meeting. Counselors will work with both in-person and virtual students and all course requests will be submitted by students online through Student Progress Center. Students should NOT attempt to begin scheduling until their meeting with the counselor. The Course Offerings Booklet is now available and unlocked on the school website (www.libertymagnet.com) and below. The scheduling portal will close Friday, March 26.

Spring Testing Schedule

The Spring Testing Schedule was released last week. LEAP Testing, AP Testing, Senior Exams, and Final Exams.

LEAP Testing will be the Week of 4/26-4/30. Students who are testing will test on campus and students who are not scheduled each day will attend virtually.

AP Testing will take place May 3 - May 17. AP test windows are set by the College Board and are not flexible and each test is given on a specific day at a specific time. Liberty has no control over the date and time of the test. Students must be at school on time for the start of the test. All tests will be given on campus. Students whose AP test is scheduled in the afternoon session will need to secure a ride home/carpool because the timed test will extend past the end of the school day.

During AP classes, all in-person students will attend classes on campus.

After Spring Break, there will be a Google Form for seniors to report any conflicts between Senior Exams and AP tests. The administrative team will work with teachers to support students with conflicts.

Dual Enrollment Final Exam schedules will be released after Spring Break.
