Please be sure to review the two documents below for important information as we prepare for the start of the second semester. The first document provides details about updates to Student Policies (including the Tardy Policy, Stairwell Policy, Student ID Policy, and Cell Phone Policy). The second document emphasizes Stakeholder Expectations to ensure second-semester student success and effective two-way communication.
Students will receive a copy of their 2nd semester schedule in their homeroom class.
Most schedules will be unchanged from 1st semester, unless a 1-semester course was taken.
Schedule Requests will only be granted in circumstances where a graduation criteria must be addressed.
Schedule change requests are made directly to the student's counselor, not the administration.
Only schedule changes that are necessary to meet graduation requirements will be approved.
Students must complete two semesters of courses to receive one full credit on the transcript.
All 1st Semester grades are final as of Friday, December 18th. These grades have been applied to the transcript and are closed to adjustment. Students have a chance to start fresh with a new grading term on January 5th.
Report Cards are being sent home the week of January 4th.
The learning environment a family chose to end the 1st semester with will be the default learning environment for the remainder of the school year. Parents/guardians may request a change in placement. Learning environment selections (in-person/virtual) are made for at least a 9-week grading period.
To opt-in to a different learning environment for the second semester, a parent/guardian must email Ms. Lydia Johnson (ljohnson7@ebrschools.org) with the request by Monday, January 4 @ 5:00pm. All requests made by this time will be effective for the start of the semester on January 5.
Students who struggled with 1st semester coursework have opportunities and structures in place to support their academic needs. In order to improve academic performance, students and families should consistently take advantage of these free resources.
Reach out to your support team for resources, strategies, and support. Students can reach out by email (using their school-issued, not personal, email accounts). The support team is here help students adjust to, manage, and meet academic expectations.

Starting January 5, all students must be wearing their school ID at all times. Any student who did not receive their ID should report to the library for pick-up starting January 5. Students who do not have their ID will be required to purchase a daily temporary ID ($1). Replacement ID cards cost $8.
Please remember that class begins at 7:15. All students should be dropped off no later than 7:10 each morning. Students who are not in class by the 7:15 bell are tardy. Morning tardies are counted towards both attendance and discipline policy. Please consider traffic patterns, morning road conditions, and possible route interruptions when planning leave time for carpool. Student drop-off may begin as early as 6:45.
Eli Marshall represented Liberty Magnet in the EBR Student of the Year Competition. Eli holds the distinction as the Liberty Magnet 2021 Student of the Year.
Eli is an AP Scholar and is National Merit Commended.
Eli has been a Freshman Scholar, District Rally winner, an Academic Excellence Award recipient, a Varsity Letterman in Soccer, LSU Robotics student, National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists Award of Excellence winner, representative at the National Youth Leadership Forum: Engineering, and serves as a math tutor.
He is a member of the National Honor Society, National BETA Club, FIRST Robotics club, Mu Alpha Theta, Boys Soccer, Varsity Tennis, a member of the First United Methodist Youth Group.
Riley Brown was announced to the All-Metro Swim team. Riley is a West Virginia Signee who was the champion in the 200 IM and 100 Backstroke at CCSL, 100 backstroke CCSL, meet record being named Swimmer of the Meet. High School state champion for Division II in 200 IM and 100 Back. All American teams in 200 IM and 100 Backstroke.
Girls Basketball was presented with their 2019 State Championship Rings on December 23.
