Important Information

Advanced placement (AP) intent survey

All students' Advanced Placement (AP) teachers posted a link to the AP Intent Survey in their Google Classroom on Friday (1/15). This intent survey must be completed by all students in each AP course in which they are enrolled. Please review your student's intent and response with them to ensure the best decision is made. This survey will be used to determine student test registration and invoicing.

Advanced Placement tests are opportunities for students to earn college credit for the content learned in the high school class. These are national tests that are given at specific dates in May. The average cost of an AP test is $95. Some financial assistance may be available to families depending on economic status.

contact information update

Included in the Report Card that was mailed last week, you received a Student Demographic Sheet. We are in the process of auditing and updating parent contact information for each student. It is vital that we have multiple current and working points of contact for each student.

  1. Please review all of the contact information the school has on file.

  2. Make any changes or updates to the contact information and send to the school (drop-off, email BSeals@ebrschools.org)

  3. If we do not have a current email on file, please send a copy of your email address.

academic probation

Mandatory parent meetings for students on academic probation will be held in the coming week. If your student was placed on academic probation, you received a letter in the Report Card mailout as well as a text message notification on Friday (1/15) morning.

Please review the Parent Meeting Information Memo below and sign-up for a timeslot to attend.

LMHS Robotics Competition

Saturday (1/23/21) Liberty Magnet will host a state-wide VEX Robotics competition. This full-day event will take place across campus and also be a recruiting opportunity for potential students who may be interested in Liberty during the second magnet portal opening. We still have some seats available for the 2021-2022 school year.

Both Liberty Robotics and Liberty JROTC Robotics will have teams in the competition. There will be STEM activities for students and campus tours. If you have some free time next Saturday, feel free to stop by and see what is going on while supporting our LMHS Robotics teams!

Graduation

A tentative graduation date and location have been selected. We have signed up to conduct graduation at LSU in the PMAC on Tuesday, May 18. We will be able to finalize and formalize this date once LSU begins scheduling meetings and takes deposits.

Senior Fees

Seniors who have not paid the school/senior fee are encouraged to do so ASAP. The senior class must have the funds available at the time the deposit is requested by LSU.

Senior Supplies

This is a reminder that all seniors must purchase the cap/gown package from Jostens as a part of participation in the graduation ceremony. The package includes cap, gown, tassel, stole, and diploma cover. The original cost is approximately $84, but will increase in price as we get closer to the graduation date.

FASFA Applications

All senior families must complete the FASFA as a part of graduation requirements. This process can be intimidating, but the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Aide (LOSFA) has multiple support opportunities to assist families with completing this online document.
