Advanced Placement Interest Surveys were completed by all students this week. In the coming weeks, we will generate AP Invoices for families and then collect payment. There are a few pieces of information to know that may affect the final pricing on the AP Invoices:
Students pre-identified by the school system will be sent a waiver to complete. This waiver will allow EBR to share economic information with the College Board, which will be used to complete an application for fee reduction due to economic status. This may reduce the cost of some students' AP exams.
There are two funding sources that will be used to provide fee assistance to students based on their grade level (graduation year). The impact of these funding sources on reducing family fee obligations will be determined by the number of students testing.
Students who paid AP fees last year but did not sit for the test will have any unused payments credited to this year's AP fee. (This would only be for students who paid AP fees but did not sit for the online test administration during the COVID closure).
Parents, there has been an outdated link floating around (and even posted to the website) for scheduling parent conferences. If you have requested a parent conference and have not heard back from the school within 24-48 hours, please contact Ms. Lydia Johnson (ljohnson7@ebrschools.org) to make sure you have the correct link. Our goal is to connect families and teachers as quickly as possible.
Please use the email address list posted here to reach out to your student's teachers. If you have a concern about your student's progress in a class, please first reach out to the teacher by email.
You can also reach out to the following staff members as your first point of contact for these types of questions or concerns:
This week we welcomed Ms. Claytor, our newest and final member of the Administrative Team. Ms. Claytor comes to Liberty from West Baton Rouge Parish and will primarily be working on developing and implementing our Freshman Transition plan for the 2021-2022 school year. This year she will be focusing on supporting students and families with Academic Probation. Please look for more information and introductions to the entire Liberty Administrative Team in a future edition of the Weekly Family Update.
If you have not already done so, please pay School/Technology fees for the 2020-2021 school year. The school depends on these fees to fund a number of activities and supplies throughout the school year. Outstanding fees can be found in the Parent Portal where they have been posted.

Students who struggled with 1st semester coursework have opportunities and structures in place to support their academic needs. In order to improve academic performance, students and families should consistently take advantage of these free resources.
