In your first year in PE, we are excited to be able to teach you in two brand new facilities. These being the 3G pitch and the barnd new Sports Hall. Having these two outstanding facilities means we are able to extend our curriculum to offer sports not taught before..

Throughout Year 7, you will have two PE lessons per week. The PE year is broken into six half terms, with two sports being taught in each of these, making twelve different sports during the year. The sports that you will be taught come from the following list.

Football, Netball, Basketball, Hockey, Badminton, Gymnastics, Rugby, Table Tennis, Health Related Fitness, Dance, Volleyball, Cricket, Athletics, Tennis, Rounders.

In Year 8 onwards, you will be taught six sports per year and have one lesson per week. Those students that want to follow an academic course in PE can opt to take GCSE PE in Year 10 and also if you stay on to study in the 6th form, you can study A level PE.

As well as lessons, there is also the option to attend PE enrichment at the end of the academy day. Here students are able to attend a variety of sporting practices which are published on our enrichment timetable each term.

We also run sports teams in a wide variety of sports and compete against other schools in friendly fixtures, as well as entering Area and North Yorkshire competitions.

The PE department look forward to welcoming you to the Academy in September with our two brand new facilities!!
