Bonjour et bienvenue to your first year in Languages!
In year 7 we will take you on a journey to understand how young people live in the French speaking world from Belgium to the Caribbean Islands, African countries as well as France. You’ll discover that learning about other cultures and different ways of living can truly offer you a window on the world.
In our lessons you will learn how to speak, write and understand French on many different varied topics through our fun and challenging activities. We will also explore cultural events in France and the French speaking world, such as how Christmas and Easter are celebrated.
By the end of your first year of learning French, you will be able to talk about yourself, your family and your friends. You will understand how festivals are celebrated in the French speaking world and how they compare with our culture. You will be able to talk about what you do at school, your hobbies and the sports you are passionate about. We use a variety of materials such as songs and You tube videos so that you are exposed to authentic French.
