Dear Parents (Grades 1 to 12),
Kindly be advised that the third session (Spring Session) of the MAP Exam (Measure of Academic Progress) will be conducted during the period from 01/05/2023 till 12/05/2023. MAP Exam helps determine your child’s instructional level and his/her academic growth throughout the school year and from year to year in the areas of Math, Reading, Language and Science. Kindly take note of the following:
General Notes: Students are required to bring their devices according to the following specification:
The device should be an iPad or laptop and should be fully charged. (NOT iPad Mini)
The operating system should be updated. (Click here to apply the steps)
Orientation sessions about the MAP will be conducted for the parents during the following dates:
MAP Orientation 1:
Tuesday, 25 April: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Grades (1 & 2):
Students will complete the MAP test for Math & Reading.
Students should bring their headphones. (Preferred wired headphones)
Grades (3 to 9): Students will complete the MAP test for Math, Reading, Language and Science.
Grades (10 & 11): Students will complete the MAP test for Math, Reading and Language.
Grade (12): Students will complete the MAP test for Reading and Language.
Students are required to consider the following specification:
MAP test has a weight of 5% of the total mark of the 2nd term in areas of Math, Reading, Language and Science.
In addition to that, and to encourage all students in the different areas, the following grading scheme shall be implemented:
Below (31% Percentile): 2 out of 5
From (31% Percentile to 40% Percentile): 3 out of 5
From (41% Percentile to 60% Percentile): 4 out of 5
From (61% Percentile to 80% Percentile): 5 out of 5
Above (80% Percentile): 5 Marks + 2 Marks as a bonus to be added to the total marks of the subject.
