Dear Parents (Grades 1 to 12),

Kindly be advised that the first session (Fall Session) of the MAP Exam (Measure of Academic Progress) will be conducted during the period from 07/11/2021 till 18/11/2021. MAP Exam helps determine your child’s instructional level and his/her academic growth throughout the school year and from year to year in the areas of Mathematics, Science, and English (Reading and Language). Kindly take note of the following:

• General Notes: Students are required to bring their devices according to the following specification:

  • 1. The device should be an iPad and should be fully charged. (NOT iPad Mini)

    2. The operating system should be updated. (Click here to apply the steps)

    3. The NWEA app should be downloaded and updated from App store. (Devices Only)

• Grades (1 & 2):

  • Students will complete the MAP test for Reading and Math only in the school.

  • Students should bring their headphones. (Preferred wired headphones)

• Grades (3 to 9): Students will complete the MAP test for Reading, Language, Math and Science.

• Grades (10 to 12): Students will complete the MAP test for Reading, Language and Math.

• Students are required to consider the following specification:

• MAP test has a weight of 5% of the total mark of the 1st term in areas of Math, English and Science.

• English mark will be calculated as average of Reading and Language marks.

• In addition to that, and to encourage all students of grades 3-12 to attain better in each of the tests, the following marks shall be implemented as follows:

  1. Below (31% Percentile): 2 out of 5

  2. From (31% Percentile to 40% Percentile): 3 out of 5

  3. From (41% Percentile to 60% Percentile): 4 out of 5

  4. From (61% Percentile to 80% Percentile): 5 out of 5

  5. Above (80% Percentile): 5 Marks + 2 Marks as bonus to be added to the minitest-1 or minitest-2
