Students will continue to work with the surface area and the volume of cylinders. We know we have got it when we can work backwards and apply the various formulae to solve problems.

Students will extend and apply their learning from weeks 4 and 5 by revising their headline poems and ensuring that their work includes all required components listed in the success criteria. Once finished, students will present their poem using an online media platform of their choice.

Correct use of punctuation and grammar

The Canadian Pacific Railroad
Students will listen to the Gordon Lightfoot song “Canadian Railroad Trilogy” to get a better understanding of the conditions for workers building the CPR.
Instructions:
1. Listen to Gordon Lightfoot song “Canadian Railroad Trilogy”
2. Read the lyrics of this song to deepen your understanding of the music.
3. Choose ONE:
(1) illustrate the meaning of one line from the song, using a pencil, pencil crayon, marker. Explain how your illustration relates to the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Don’t forget to include the lyric you’ve illustrated.
(2) Select a versa from the song. Find ten photos that represent the selected verse. Under each photo explain how the photo relates the meaning of the verse. Don’t forget to include the verse from the song you’ve used!
