TIME CAPSULE
Prompt: Right now, you are living through history. Every generation has a historical
event that defines them. Some of your grandparents might remember the attack on
Pearl Harbor. Other generations lived through the assassination of President Kennedy
or September 11th. Living through a Global Pandemic will be something your
generation will remember. Because of this historic time, you will be creating a Digital
Time Capsule to remember the COVID-19 Pandemic. One day these will become
primary sources when we learn about the year 2020 and COVID-19 in history!
Last week you had the opportunity to research an inventor or innovator. This week you will BECOME a inventor or innovator of a single product...But you won't be making your product just yet - that will happen next week! This week you will fill out your inventor/innovator log!
Your invention/ innovation must fit into the definition:
•Innovation: Finding a better or more effective way to use an existing product,
process, or service. An innovation solves a real problem. An example of an
innovation is the iPod. Although portable music and MP3 players already existed,
Apple made it even better with the invention of an iPod (and later on the touch
screen).
•Invention: Can be anything that solves a real problem, but it is something that no
one has ever thought of before. It must be totally unique! An example of an
invention is the Segway; nothing like this had ever existed before. Another
example of an invention is when Alexander Graham Bell invented the lightbulb!
Remember to have fun!
This week will be all about review. Each day there will be a new 5-10 question google form quiz on different topics that we have covered in class (and DL class) this year. I will then take the information and doing mini-lessons based on the topics that need a little attention. Don't forget to finish the Probability Project from last week that continued into this week if you needed more time.
