Do you ever wonder what your name means? Here’s your chance to find out! Look up the origin (etymology) of your name. Once you’ve looked it up, answer the following: What does it mean? Why do you think you were named this? If you can change your name, what would you change it to and why?

Childhood Story
Everyone has a favourite story that they heard when they were younger. Maybe it’s still your favourite story! What makes this story your favourite? Your task is to use your imagination to recreate this story by giving it a twist while keeping the moral the same. You might want to consider changing the setting, characters, etc. Once you have finished, orally retell the story to someone in your home.
Get started with numbers and thinking right here. Solution to the problem below will be posted on Thursday.
Tues/Wednesday
Work through these questions to remember all about patterning. Do questions 1 - 7.
Wednesday/Thursday
Work through these questions to remember how to apply patterns. Do questions 4 - 12.
For this week's history, students will learn about the fate of the Acadian people after the British came to power in 1713. Their task will include a reading, followed by questions to gauge their understanding. Check Google Classroom for the readings and questions!
This week we will be preparing for and taking the HEAT unit test. There will be two parts to the week. You may join one of two review online ZOOM sessions with Mr. J on Monday or Tuesday at 12pm-12:45pm and then take a modified version of your HEAT unit test online on Thursday.
Details on ZOOM, logging in and Meeting link coming can be found on Google Classroom.
If you missed the HEAT unit test, please touch base with Mr. Johnston and follow the instructions for Mr. Elford & Ms. Chan's Class above.
The plan is go over the HEAT unit test but that can't occur until Mr. Elford & Ms. Chan's class have taken their test. We will likely do this during week 2. Until then, I would like you all to log into your OneNote and read over the Success Criteria for the new unit STRUCTURES and the first note called Structures: Form and Function and watch the attached videos on ergonomics.
A Google Classroom assignment will ask you to take a picture of something in your house that utilizes ergonomic design and briefly describe how the object is designed with ergonomics in mind.
It doesn't matter who your teacher is, just the grade.
