Family Heritage
As part of immigration and embracing heritage, you will be tracing your own family’s history. You will be interviewing a family member to learn more about your heritage. Don’t forget to complete the self-check success criteria! You may present your findings in any way you choose!
Music is a form of poetry and legendary artists like Tupac were once inspired by poets like Shakespeare. Here's your chance to be legendary...this week, you will be creating your own rap song. I'm looking to see how inspired you can get from moments in your life - but don't worry, if you can't think of any, you can rap about your favourite food, favourite sport, or favourite book!
In your rap you must have a rhyming scheme (ABAB or AABB) as well as five figurative devices - a metaphor, a simile, personification, analogy, and alliteration.
Your final product can either be recorded (audio, no video) or you can simply hand in your lyrics. Just a reminder, you cannot say anything negative nor can you use inappropriate language and/or references.
Enjoy!
We have made it to June. Although it looks totally different than any other June we are used to, one thing remains the same, the unit of study for math is PROBABILITY! You will watch some videos on the differences between theoretical and experimental probability and learn a strategy on finding out how to figure out one particular outcome. We will do some KH Missions and keep it low key for this week. Next week we will do an experimental project and then the last two weeks we will do a whole year review based on what you want to review. Please let me know what you think you need more help with so we can do some lessons on those concepts in the last two weeks.

Now that Dragon and it's crew have reached the International Space Station it's time to learn about the basics needs of living in space and how astronauts basic needs are met on the ISS (International Space Station). In your OneNote, please read the note Basic Human Needs in Space and then watch the video Take a Tour of the ISS. The video is very long (50 mins) so feel free to skip through it as needed.
No Google Meet this week.

We are going to start talking about circuits this week! Check out the following video that shows the difference between series and parallel circuits.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSukRnxGy5c
When you have finished watching, give a definition for both a series circuit and a parallel circuit. Why were the lightbulbs brighter in the parallel circuit and dimmer in the series circuit? Finally, see if you can find an example of a series and parallel circuit in real life. You can research online if you need some more help on this part! Submit your work in a Google Doc!
