 Text Types and Purposes:

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.1

Write arguments to support claims in an analysis of substantive topics or texts, using valid reasoning and relevant and sufficient evidence.

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.1.A

Introduce precise claim(s), distinguish the claim(s) from alternate or opposing claims, and create an organization that establishes clear relationships among claim(s), counterclaims, reasons, and evidence.

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.1.B

Develop claim(s) and counterclaims fairly, supplying evidence for each while pointing out the strengths and limitations of both in a manner that anticipates the audience's knowledge level and concerns.

CSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.1.C

Use words, phrases, and clauses to link the major sections of the text, create cohesion, and clarify the relationships between claim(s) and reasons, between reasons and evidence, and between claim(s) and counterclaims.

Establish and maintain a formal style and objective tone while attending to the norms and conventions of the discipline in which they are writing.

Provide a concluding statement or section that follows from and supports the argument presented.


Monday 

Start Entry Task

Review the last test.


Remember- a minimum of 10 Source cards (10 sources / 1 book, 9 internet) Ensure the sources are credible; and reliable. See CRAP test!

Ensure that you have a word-for-word written copy of your research paper prompt on your desk at all times--to ensure that you are staying on target. I will be looking for it.

  

Target - by the end of class Wednesday, have at least eight (8) note/resource cards and four (4) source cards.


By the end of class Thursday, have at least  eleven (11) note and  at  least six (6) source cards.

 


Tuesday:

Start Entry Task

Continue filling out Research and Source cards (see Google Classroom)

Start with your book-find information and put it on your not card first.

Ensure that you have a word-for-word written copy of your research paper prompt on your desk at all times


  



Wednesday

Continue filling out Research and Source cards (see Google Classroom)

By the end of class TODAY,  have at least eight (8) note/resource cards and four (4) source cards.


Ensure that you have a word-for-word written copy of your research paper prompt on your desk at all times



Thursday:

Start Part 1 Entry Task

Continue filling out Research and Source cards (see Google Classroom)

By the end of class  TODAY, have at least eleven (11) note and at least six (6) source cards.




Friday:

Start Part 1 Entry Task

Academic noun and verbs/Sentence type and Comma test

If you are caught up with the card count, read your individual book. If not, continue making source and note cards..
