Data Mining

Data Mining is not an individual statistical method, but rather encompasses a variety of methods that are incorporated into a data mining process. Many of the statistical methods include multivariate methods, such as those listed here (Multivariate Methods).

An excellent reference is Handbook of Statistical Analysis and Data Mining Applications (Nisbet).

StatSoft offers a series of 35 videos related to data mining methods, process, and tools on YouTube. See the StatSoft Data Mining page on this site for a collection of links to these videos.

Several R resources are available for data mining applications.

  • A good resource to start with is www.rdatamining.com. Among the information available is a presentation titled "Introduction to Data Mining with R".

  • See related website links listed on this site at Websites Related to R.

  • See also R Code for links to information about R and Data Mining.
