1. Measure the outer diameter of the pipe you will use and make sure it is the right size.
2. Ensure that your workpiece fits inside the lathe's vice and that it is not too long.
3. If the pipe is considerably larger than will fit in the Lathe then take the piece to the band saw and cut a smaller piece.
4. Insert the pipe into the lathe's chuck and tighten it securely using the key.
5. Using dial calipers measure the width you wish your ring to be , in this case it would be 1.25"
6. Align the tool to the edge of where you measured with the calipers and bring it close to the work piece
7. Turn on the lathe and slowly turn the wheel on the side clockwise in order to push the blade of the tool into the workpiece and cut it off.
8. Using the deburrer and or the belt sander shave off any loose PVC from the edges of your ring
