In this section you will cad the Triangle from the FIRST logo. Then we will export the file as an SVG and use the Laser Cutter to cut the acrylic for the part.
Now that the CAD design is done, we can export the shape as a DXF file for cutting on the Omtech laser.

One the laser is turned on and ready to go, you can continue with this tutorial.
1. Select your material. In this case we are using 1/8 inch red Acylic.
2. Place the Acrylic on the bed of the laser. We will adjust the location later.
3. Use the move tab in LightBurn to position the laser above the stock. Then click the Focus Z button to set the Z height of the laser.
4. Here is a video of the Focus Z operation. The laser will lower until it touches the stock with the probe then it will return to the proper height. Then move the stock to the middle of the bed or wherever you have the DXF placed.
5. Now click the Frame button to see where the part will cut.
6. Adjust the location of the stock until the Frame is in the location that you want to cut.
7. Select the Triangle and choose the Cuts / Layers tab. Then set the 00 layer to the same settings as above. (Hole, 4 Passes, 12 mm/s and 55% power)
8. Make sure the Laser Cutter door is closed then click Start.
9. Once the cutting is done, the machine will beep. At that time, you can open the lid of the laser cutter. VERIFY THAT THE LASER CUT ALL THE WAY THROUGH BEFORE YOU MOVE IT. YOU CAN RERUN THE CYCLE TO CUT MORE IF NEEDED.
Assuming that the part cut all of the way, you can remove it from the laser cutter and wipe clean any residue. You should now have a perfect little triangle.
