Wich liquid will melt ice the quickest Orange juice,Coca-cola,or Water?
If I add water to the ice, then it will melt faster than with the coke or orange juice.
Coca-cola 1/2 cup
Water 1/2 cup
Orange juice 1/2 cup
3 cups
One thermometer
9 squared ice cubes
one timer
Gather all your materials
Grab the cups and take them out of their bag
Pour 1/2 a cup of orange juice, coca-cola,and your water into those first three cups, respectively
Check the temperature of each liquid to see if they are the same temperature three times for each liquid,it should be room temperature or 75 degrees
If they are the same temperature add three ice cubes to each cup.
Once one liquid with ice in it melts you have your first winner but you have to do it two more times to make sure it is the liquid that makes ice melts the fastest.
Then whichever liquid melts ice the fastest out of those three times you did it is the liquid that melts ice the fastest and your done
REPEAT THIS THREE TIMES
Dependent Variable:the speed the ice melts
Independent Variable: The different liquids;Coca-cola,Orange juice, and Water
Constant:the container,amount of liquid,temperature of liquod,size of ice cubes
Control:ice melting with no liquids
These are the photos and data of my experiment.
The Data is telling you how much time it took each liquid took to melt the ice but the time is in seconds.
The water was the one that melt ice the quickest.
Do you ever get annoyed when your ice keeps melting too quick and it’s not keeping your drink cold? Well then my experiment will help you understand why. My question for this experiment was, “Which liquid will melt ice the quickest, orange juice, coke, or water?” I decided to use this question because I thought it was a really cool idea and I thought that maybe I could help people know why the ice in their drinks melt so quickly. Another reason as to why I chose this question was because I already knew what my hypothesis was gonna be. My hypothesis was, “If I add water to ice, then it will melt faster than with coke or orange juice.” The good thing about my hypothesis was that I got it right. My guess was that water would melt ice the quickest, and it did. I think the water melted the ice faster because the ice had a quicker reaction to the water than the coke and orange juice. Overall, the procedure was very fun, creative, and quick.
The purpose of my experiment is to figure out which liquid melts ice the fastest. I decided to use three different liquids, water, coke, and orange juice. My question for this experiment was, “Which liquid could melt ice the fastest, coke, water, or orange juice?” My hypothesis for this experiment was, “If I add water to ice, then it will melt faster than with coke or orange juice.” Now, I’m going to explain how my experiment went, and go through the steps so you can do it too.
For this experiment, I started off by getting all the liquids and checking the temperature of each liquid to make sure they were all the same. Next, I poured them one by one into the measuring cups to make sure I had an equal amount of liquid for each cup. I proceeded to pour them into my small cups. Finally, I took the ice out of the square mold. After I took the ice out from the mold, I put one ice cube in each small cup at the same time. Next, I set up a timer on my phone. Once I started the timer, I waited a little bit for one of the ice cubes to melt. Then I went to get a spoon to stir them a little.
Once I started stirring each liquid, I noticed that the ice cube in the water was starting to melt! After conducting my experiment three times, I learned that the ice in the water melted the fastest all three times. This means that my hypothesis was correct because the water melted the ice quickest, and that was my guess! The reason that I thought it would be water was because ice is made out of water, so I imagined since it was most likely water against water it would melt faster. This was also very helpful because now we know we have to put more ice into water so it can stay cold.
This experiment will help in daily life because now you will know how fast ice melts. Also you will know that you have to add more ice to your water or any other drinks to keep it cold for more time. Now you will be able to know how good it is to know that water melts ice really quick .
