The problem statement of my experiment was What will be more effective in getting rid of weeds; weed & feed or white vinegar. During each of the three trials, my hypothesis was correct and the weed & feed was more effective than the white vinegar. Chickweed one (the plant I sprayed weed & feed) each trial died first. My analysis of why this happened was because I sprayed weed & feed in the dirt in the direction of the plant’s roots and on the plant. This experiment was fast and easy.

The purpose of this project was to find an alternative to weed killer. Most weed killer are average 10$+ while a 32oz bottle of walmart brand of white vinegar is 98 cents. My problem statement was “what will be more effective in getting rid of weeds; weed & feed or white vinegar”. In my case the weeds I experimented on were chickweeds. In response to my problem statement the weed & feed was more effective.

My hypothesis was “if i use weed & feed, then it will be more effective the white vinegar”. My hypothesis was correct and the weed & feed was in fact,more effective. after the second day, I already saw results on chickweed one. On day two chickweed one started to start having little brown spots on plant one then on day three the plant died. I did the same procedures for both chickweeds but plant chickweed one still beat chickweed two.

One major thing that I found was that after a week or two, plant two eventually died. I believe this happened because I left plant two outside. I feel from this experiment that you should use weed & feed when you have chickweeds in your yard. This experiment can be improved by using several types of weeds instead of one.

This project can be an example on what weed killer to buy when you have chickweeds. Weed & feed is a great weed killer for chickweeds.
