The VCE Studio Arts subject study design expires at the end of 2022 and is replaced by a new study design and a newly named subject, Art Creative Practice.
Areas of study
How do we explore the Creative Practice and areas of personal interest to develop our own artworks?
How do we develop technical skills through exploring and experimenting with different materials and techniques?
How do artists from different cultures and historical periods communicate ideas and meaning in their artworks?
Learning program & assessment:
The learning program is a combination of practical and theoretical tasks.
Students will explore the key knowledge and key skills through a range of learning activities including classroom and group discussions, structured questions, exploring materials and techniques and art making activities.
Students will complete three assessment tasks; a written response to Art Practice, Create three art forms and document their personal and visual responses in a Visual Art Diary.

How do we analyse and compare the practices of artists and artworks from different times and cultures?
How to use Creative Practice to explore cultural ideas or issues to make and present artworks through collaboration.
How do we reflect, evaluate and document our Creative Practice to develop artworks that communicate personal ideas related to social and cultural contexts.

Assessment consists of a written report with visual evidence, completed artwork responding to artists and a documented body of work.
