Good Morning,

I can't believe we are heading into April this week! June will be here before we know it! Ms. O is continuing this week with learning about the 5 senses. Students have been exploring the sense of sight and the sense of hearing so far. We went on a listening walk around the school on Friday describing many of the different sounds we can hear at school. We listened to some mystery sounds and students had to guess what they were hearing. 

In Fundations, students will continue to work on tapping and blending CVC words. They will learn when to use c or k at the beginning of a word. When the /k/ sound is followed by a short /o/ /a/ or /u/ you use the letter c and when it is followed by /i/ or /e/ you use the letter k. I added the parent note for weeks 3-6 incase you may have misplaced it. I'm sending home a sheet to practice tapping and writing out CVC words.

In writing, we will be focussing on starting our sentences with a capital letter, leaving spaces between words, using mostly lowercase letters, and adding punctuation at the end of a sentence.

In math, we will be learning about 3D shapes.
