Our busy squash programme this term has also been most successful. There have been a number of KZN trial tournaments and many of our squash players were eager to participate.
We had a wonderful note of praise for the u11 boys who were commended on their excellent sportsmanship, impeccable manners and brilliant scoring. Congratulations Joey Bates, Grant Muller, Litsitso Makara, Cayden Flockhart, Sam Veenstra and Kian Moor for keeping the Clifton flag flying high.
We were also impressed with the number of Grade 4s who played against grade 5s in the u11 age group. Grant Muller needs a particular accolade as he came first in quite a few of the tournaments showing great determination and perseverance. (Our school’s value for this term).
The u13 boys group played exceptionally well and our captain, Joe Moore, also deserves a special mention as he also came first in more than one tournament against fierce opposition. He is a real ambassador for the school with his demeanour and sportsmanship.
Three of our Clifton children were selected for the KZN A team which is phenomenal (although we do not actually know their seedings yet: the list was alphabetical.) Well done to Joe Moore, Bevan Garlick and Graeme Higginson!
The u13 girls also did us proud. Led by Siri Borgen (Captain),
Katie Boyd, Annabelle and Georgina Jonsson and Kahlan Buratovich can be commended on their good commitment and how they acquitted themselves.
I would also like to mention Rowan Mork-Chadwick who has shown remarkable improvement and fought hard in the u14 section.
We are so thrilled for our KZN representatives this year, I know they have been mentioned in a previous newsletter but as the final term roundup I would like to print them again as a final accolade for the term.
