The Clifton Chess Club has had a highly productive and successful term, engaging our players in regular meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. During these sessions, they have the opportunity to play against fellow club members as well as our dedicated teachers. The players take great delight in playing against Mr Flanegan, despite their best efforts, they have yet to defeat him, but they continue to enjoy the challenge and strive for victory.

The use of the chess.com app on iPads has allowed our players to learn new skills and techniques, which they can then apply in future games, enhancing their overall gameplay.

Our club also participated in tournaments against Oasis and Clarendon, where our players showcased their skills and sportsmanship. Furthermore, we are proud to announce the outstanding achievements of Kivar Royappen and DeWet Mulder in the annual Midlands Chess Championships held at Laddsworth. De Wet excelled by reaching the semi-finals, while Kivar's exceptional talent led him to victory in the Senior Championship Division, bringing home the trophy.

We look forward to more exciting chess experiences, opportunities for growth, and the development of our players'.
