Trip to Spirit of Adventure
Once again Spirit of Adventure: Shongweni has lived up to its name. When we arrived on the morning of Wednesday 7th of June, our children were welcomed by their guides, split into small groups and directed to their cabins. Once unpacked, they were briefed on the ‘magic beans’ and their importance over the next few days. Who would have guessed that so much adventure could be packed into two days? The canoe safari, beach games, rubber stamp orienteering, campfire cooking, stalk the lantern, rock climbing, zip-lining and the Pick a Box show were enjoyed by all. There was also an obstacle course to be conquered and even a snake pit to be crawled through. A firm favourite though was abseiling down the Shongweni dam wall (our Clifton Grade Twos are the youngest children to do this). True to the Clifton spirit our children took part in each activity with enthusiasm. Friday the 10th arrived far too quickly and all too soon it was time to go home. The memories, however, will last forever.
