We are learning about engineering, teamwork, and problem-solving as part of a STEM challenge. We had fun learning how to design and build stable, free-standing structures.
We were working in groups to build the highest free-standing tower we could, using a set of materials. When doing this task, pupils used the meta-skills of creativity to come up with different tower designs, critical thinking to solve problems with balance, and collaboration to work effectively within a group.
As part of our World War 2 topic, we visited a local communications bunker. We learned a lot about how they tracked enemy planes without radar, rationing and Morse Code.
We took part in Highland One World's challenge to create artwork to send a message about climate justice. Our work was displayed at The Highland Council HQ and viewed by many councillors as well as the general public. They are also going to be included in a future showcase.
