"If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow." John Dewey
As part of a Rights Respecting School we created a Class Charter and decided what kind of class we wanted to be.
"Coming together is a beginning,
staying together is progress,
and working together is success."
Henry Ford
In Primary 4 we believe in setting our personal goals aim high and working hard to achieve them, whether academic, social, or athletic. When we achieve them, we replace them with something different or more challenging.
At the end of every week we have our REWARDS time where the Pupils of the Week have the chance to win various rewards on the archery target.
We in P4 take saving our planet very seriously. Our Eco Officer, Callum Craig, took a handful of volunteers and explored the school looking for electrical sockets, light switches and our energy efficiency meter. Taking readings and pictures as evidence, the team reported back to the class explaining how we were doing and what we could do to improve our electronic footprint.
As a class we have created the role of "Deluminator Duty" which gives a pupil the responsibility of ensuring all switches and lights are turned off whenever we leave the class or they are not in use.
As a class we have been investigation and exploring what it was like to live in Ancient Egypt. We have researched about the lives of Tutankhamen and Cleopatra and also how the Ancient Egyptians lived. This topic has played a part in all of our learning: from maths to RME!
Hats off to our hard working class who blazed their way onto the stage with a phenomenal performance of America in our Christmas Show, Christmas Around the World.
We start each morning with a Joe Wicks 5 Minute School Workout to get us active and ready to learn! This is primarily done in class but whenever possible we team up with P3/4 and all of us workout in the hall!
After our workout we use a blob tree to identify how we feel and use our Emotion Works Words to explain what and how we feel.
During the day we jog the Daily Mile where we record our steps and how we feel!
