Facilities

While your various lessons can take place anywhere on the school site according to the facilities required by the subject, the centre of Sixth Form life tends to be the Sixth Form Centre, comprising a Café and the Learning Level, as well as the Milton Library. The Sixth Form offices are in this building and it is there that you can communicate most easily with the Sixth Form pastoral team. The Sixth Form staff try to be around whenever they are not in a classroom teaching – breaks, lunchtimes, or before school are reasonable times to come and chat.

Sixth Form Café

All Sixth Formers may use the facilities of the Café and these are not available to other members of the school during school hours. The Café is open all day from 8am. All Sixth Formers are asked to treat it and its staff with the utmost respect and pleasantness. The whole area (with its many litter receptacles!) should be used with due concern for others.

Learning Level

The Learning Level is the dedicated Sixth Form private study area. There is considerable space available and the atmosphere must be one of purposeful study. Anyone unable to maintain this approach should seek an alternative location to spend their time.

The Milton Library

The Milton Library is a place for silent individual study. Here you are expected to work on your own without talking. This means that there is always somewhere available where you can focus fully on your studies without distractions from those around you.
